My husband and I dined at cafe cavallino on lygon st. They were so busy and yet they were friendly and the food was great VERY FRESH but the price was value for money. I am happy to say I have found my new place to eat out. My husband and I are sick and tired of getting ripped off at other restaurants. Thanks Cavallino we will see you soon.

Great Atmosphere, Great Food, Great Value!!

The food is delicious and it is just stunning value for money. I have been there on many an occasion and have never left dissapointed. Simply a must eat for italian food lovers!!

P.S. they have loads of seating, so you are never asked to stand and wait for 20 to 30 minutes on busy weekend nights!!

If i was u i was u i would not take the advice of some the messages above they are trully wrong. I have been to Cafe Cavallino previously and i had some of the best food i have ever eaten. The sevice was great the owner even has his son helping out somedays, drinks, food and desserts were all brought out on time and the crepes that i had had were presented like I was in a 5 star restaurant in rome. The gnochi just melted in your mouth perfectly cooked, and by the way the service was great and also water is for free so i wouldnt expect it to come out straight away. On arrival i was greeted politly and not barked at or conned in with a free bottle of wine, like many of the other cafes tried to do. The inside is very relaxing and they have recently extended it is great double the size but still the same great service. in the end it is the best place i have evr been to and i dont care what any one else has to say. And also its not a fish and chip shop the chips are a side dish with your meal. if anyone else has the same view as me reply to my comment THANKYOU!!!!!!!!!

Every friday night my girlfriends and i go down to lygon street carlton to our favourite restaurant Cafe Cavallino.

Now im not too sure about all these derogatory views been placed upon this restaurant, but for sure these 'people' saying very negative things about this restaurant are wrong.. or atleast in my opinion.

When my girlfrends and i visit Cafe Cavallino we are very peased with the service. Upon arrival we are already greeted by the friendly staff, seated down where ever we want, menus are brought out to us, staff ask if we would like a drink whilst we are looking through the menu deciding what to eat/drink. and meals and drinks are prompt.

May i also add that the resturant has delicious food, the pizzas and pastas are by far the best on lygon street. They also do terrific meat dishes as well.

So if this is not convincing go attend yourself and you will see.

i am disgusted that this place is still open for business. judging by the way they treat their customers it won't be open for too much longer.
the waiting staff are arrogant and rude... the wrong food was brought out.... not to mention waiting about half an hour for a bottle of water.

i definatley will not be spending my money there in the future and i will be recommending all my friends to take there business elsewhere also

I don’t recommend this café to anyone!!!

I must admit when i go to dine out in a restaurant i think customer service plays a very important role especially when you are paying for it.
The minute we stepped into Cafe Cavallino restaurant we had to wait at least 5minutes for someone to ask if we had been seated.
We had to remind the waiters 5times to get us some water.
We had to wait 1hour and ten minutes for our food. However, one of the pasta dishes came out freezing and the pizza that was given to us was the wrong pizza.
When we requested to speak to the manager regarding this issue they explained there was no manger on duty (who runs a restaurant with no manager on duty??) and so we had to speak to, I would say a 19year old male who basically said if your not happy with the service then “There is Naturno next door you can go and eat at”.
I was shocked and horrified that someone who is trying to run a restaurant would speak to there paying customers like this.

Im not sure if the owner is aware of the way the staff are treating there customers but considering there was no manager to speak to at the time, im hoping the owner sees this review so he knows how his restaurant is being handled.

I am disgusted and I don’t recommend this café to anyone!!!

Best Pizza and pasta ever!!!!
