Reviews for Pho Geelong Noodle Bar
Cheap, ok, but inconsistent.

I enjoy a nice bowl of Pho.
But with Geelong's Pho I have a different experience every time I go. Last week the older couple were serving. We received one bowl of Pho and waited 6 to 8 min's before I got up to go to the counter (to find out where my husbands meal was) and another table said "Would this be your soup? Here, we haven't touched it". It'd been served to the wrong table and only two tables were occupied at the time, ours and theirs.
Before that, the older man tried to serve us a plate of spring rolls we didn't order.
The old lady served us tea from a thermos..and it was tepid.
With only two tables occupied on a quiet afternoon, I was still baffled by the waiting time. On other occasions I have waited way too long also, to the point where I've wanted my money back so I could change my mind and grab some sushi across the road.
Sometimes the Pho is plentiful and so are the extra's that come with it.. other times the servings are stingier.
A few times I've turned up expecting it to be open and it's been closed (around 8pm)-- the sign says it's open 'til "late" every night.
Because it's cheap and the soup is good.. I go back from time to time.. but yeah.. they can get on my nerves. The sign out the front says they also serve hamburgers and coffee too.. I don't know if I'd be game?

We've been waiting for a Vietnamese joint to open up in Geelong for a few years now, and it's finally happened! We're hooked on it's namesake - a dish called Pho - which is a soup with thick rice noodles and meat (in our case beef). In the past we've always had to go up to Footscray, Richmond or Box Hill to get our Pho fix - now it's much more practical!
Pho Geelong is a pretty small family affair, the older mum and dad (english not so good) helping out the son, kids running around the kitchen and out the back. Not a hell of a lot of money spent on decor, but then very few Vietnamese restaurants do. The menu's small, but we always tend to get the same thing anyway (see below) so we've never been phased. It's dirt cheap, filling, fantastic flavours - highly recomended.
If you've never tried Vietnamese cuisine and want to learn more - this website's a great place to start:

Better yet, why not head into Pho Geelong, and order yourself the following:
Starter - Spring Rolls with lettuce, dipped in Nuoc Cham
Main - Beef Noodle Pho
Drink - Three Colour
