Reading through some of the other reviews I can not imagine why the people that have reviewed this restaurant poorly have done so as it is a FANTASTIC restaurant.
My husband and I have been there several times and never had a bad experience ![]()
Shuga has great food and prompt service but not only that - friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere and a diverse menu.
I live in Mill Park and Shuga is definately my first choice of restaurant in the area. If you have never visited Shuga before definately make a booking you will not be disappointed!!!

Visiting from South Australia I was recommended to try Shuga by a business associate and I have already called to say thanks for such a great restaurant suggestion!!
I cannot stress how impressed I was with the whole experience.
The atmosphere, decor, food, wine, coffee and of course not to mention the good loooking gentleman working last night ( I think that his name was LEO) added to my satisfaction!!
Congratulations on such a great establishment - I know where I will be going tonight!!

My husband and i both are chefs and love great food and great value, and thats exacally what we have gotten for the last 3 years that we have been dining at shuga.
The menu has a very wide variety of foods for any person, and the specials are always changing with fantastic, adventerous new ideas! Not to mention the wide variety of wine, coffee's/hot chocolates and absolutely devine cakes and desserts!
The service is great and always prompt, and the staff are very down to earth, friendly and professional, and always do their utmost to accomidate us with what ever we need. Our meals are always of a high quality and a great standard, (even on a saturday night when the restaraunt is packed)!
Shuga has a great atmosphere and vibe, and I love the open kitchen! So thankyou shuga for making our dining expirence over the last few years a fantastic one!
So cheers shuga and heres to 3 more years!
Our Wedding Day @ Shuga

Well, what can I say? I married the girl of my dreams at Shuga.
(I had to write it my wife was looking over my shoulder)
Anyway, The day before the big night, the Shuga Staff were helping us set tables, candles
, final touches, etc to our liking, after the restaurant had already been closed.
They were very helpful and patient considering we were being a little painful
and that they were staying back for us.
The food was amazing and our guest still rave about the meals, the drinks
were flowing and nothing was a bother . We had a ball and a feast that night.
We highly recommend Shuga to anyone looking for great food , d rinks and s ervice for any occasion.
The happily married couple . (She 's happy & I'm married)

I've been going to Shuga for a long time, mainly for coffee and cake with some of my friends.
We keep going back because of the awesome variety they have. They have flavoured hot chocolates and 5 different cakes to choose from.
We always leave with a giggle as the waitresses, who obviously recognise us, like to have a joke with us. They make us feel welcome and they dont seem to mind that we hog the couches with our friends for coffee.
We recommend Shuga to anyone who hasnt already stumbled across this little peice of heaven!

After reading the following reviews, it stuns me to read Terible, terrible, terrible.
I find it amusing that the particulars the writer has adressed are in fact incorrect or incomplete.
The particular evening was in fact a birthday and the patrons meals did take 40 minutes to arrive, however it wasnt mentioned that well done steaks were ordered.
They also suggested that the manager refused to re-cook the meal. This is also incorrect. The manager offered for another meal to be cooked if they were unhappy with the meal they recieved, and the birthday patron rudely refused.
It was only once all the other meals on the table were eaten in full, that the other guests joined in and decided their meals were also unsatisfactory.
The party in question also "forgot" to mention that once they arrived home that the phoned the restaurant only to call the waitress who answered "a gutless little ****"
I find it parculiar that the patrons in question had recieved "par sub service" in the past. Why would they choose to come and celebrate a birthday with us if this was the case?
We work very hard as a team at Shuga to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere for families as well as groups simply wanting a place to catch up over coffee. We welcome and appreciate feedback of any kind providing it is accurate. What i dont accept as an individual is unkind words which are riddled with lies and half truths.
For all our geniuine, regular guests who enjoy all that Shuga offers, Cheers to you!

Last weekend I went to shuga to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary, and it was FANTASTIC!
The food was very well presented & absolutely delicious. The staff were fantastic on every level, ensuring all the guests were satisfied!
Towards the end of the evening a friend of mine joined us for coffee & cake & was delighted with the staff & coffee, as he stated 'Best Coffee', 'Awesome Layout' & 'Down-to-earth environment'.
I would like to thank everyone at shuga, management, waiters/waitresses, chef's, ect, for making my parents day very special.
We will definately be back.
Many Thanks, xoxoxo
Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE!!

We have been to this restaurant a few times in the past and had sub-par service but nothing that compares to the experience we had tonight.
A family group met at Shuga to meet and celebrate one members' birthday. Dinner was ordered but did not arrive for an hour, though entrees were served after 30mins or so. All of us, particularly the birthday girl, felt our mains were far below acceptable quality. The Chicken Avocado dish, in particular, was advertised in the menu as "pan fried tender chicken breast" but arrived stringy, tough, overcooked and burnt on the bottom.
The waitress called over the manager when we complained, who assured us that this was normal, and would not re-cook the chicken breast. She did however suggest replacing it with a completely different meal - which would have taken another hour to wait.
Others in our group also felt their meat was overcooked and meals were below standard. This included steak, veal and other chicken dishes. Worst of all, the attitude from the manager (who claimed she "co owned" the restaurant) was extremely apalling and no offer of a free meal or discount was offered. All of our party refuse to step foot in this establishment again.
Thank you Shuga for ruining our birthday girls' evening. If we could rate a negative star for this dump, we would!
