Where do I start.... We went for Yum Cha on a Sunday 1.30 session and chose All You Can Eat over Pay by Consumation. First mistake. The lack of variety and choice limited you in all you could eat unless you wanted to eat steamed pork buns and spring rolls. A couple of trolleys went past with food in the first 15 mins and then they stopped and you had to ask if you wanted anything. They ran out of roast duck (how convenient) and egg custard tarts.
The service was great until one waitress said to me " the customer" "can you give me a sec" in rather a impatient tone. At 3pm we were told to take the dim sims because the waitress was leaving and there would be no more food. When I booked I was told there were 2 sessions afternoon session was 1.30 to 4pm and said nothing about the food stopping at 3pm.
Having been to many yum cha's resturants I found Red Emperor's food itself was excellent standard.. quality was excellent however limited in variety of choice for a Sunday Yum Cha and ever expensive.... $48 for yum cha was definitely too much when there was so little to chose from. Very Disappointing.
Great views and great food

Red Emperor does great classy Chinese, and the view out over the Yarra to Melbourne is great. If you're wandering around Southbank looking for somewhere to have lunch then this place is great, it's good for dinner too but it does get busy so book if you can.
