Pettavel has been rated as being one of the western world's finest restaurants buy Herald Sun food reviewer Stephen Downes.
Downes who has a reputation for not handing out praise lightly ,goes on to comment about "a combination of excellent fare...professionally delivered service...and an atmosphere that relaxes, yet excites."
Pettevel scored a 19/20 in Downes reviews in the Herald Sun.
This property is also the only restaurant in the region that currently holds a 'Chefs Hat' rating three years running, by the Age Good Food Guide, (so no bias from one particular reviewer here.)
If you have never been to Pettavel please do yourself a favour,the food is nothing short of sensational. The menu changes daily and only the freshest of produce (mostly local) are used in the kitchen.
The meal starts with a supply of warm fresh bread baked by the kitchen, then three tasting plate entrees are served, a choise of around six mains and six desserts follow,all for a set price that won't break the bank.( In my view this would have to be the best value for money fine dining venue I have ever frequented.)
On a note of caution don't go to Pettavel if you only have an hour or so to spare.
This venue is all about slow food. It is a dining experience to savour. If you make a booking with that in mind, you will walk away with an experience to remember.
