Reviews for Movida Bar De Tapas
Spectacular Spanish

On our first night out as a newly married couple we couldn't have stumbled across a better venue for dinner.
The place has an amazing vibe- there is lots of action everywhere you look yet its so intimate while your dining. And there are always new intriguing smells coming out of the kitchen!
Its hard to decide what was better- the food or the staff. The staff were very attentive but not pushy. Reciting all the specials names in Spanish, their recommendations and insisting on finishing our meal with a glass of Pedro Ximenez, without this level of service our evening wouldn't have been what it was.
However, the food really is outstanding. The menu is split into two parts- portions for 1 or for 2. The staff suggest around 4 or 5 portions per person. While it does start to add up quickly all is forgotten once you start eating. Each portion has its own unique flavour and each is as good as the last. Except for the quail which is just incredible!!!
The wine is a bit expensive and because we didn't have a booking we had to stand around in the entrance waiting for a table but neither of these impacted on our great night out.
Also, buy the cookbook! For only $45 you're taking home all their tasty secrets
see www.movida.com.au for menus and booking details.
Spanish Style

Movida's is tapas heaven, down an unpromising lane off Flinders St, with slightly stylish, slightly edgy graffiti / wall art its food is great.
We had a table of four and apparently six is the limit. It's bigger than it looks inside but is still as much a bar as it is restaurant. A great place for couples rather than the big office party thing. The service was friendly and attentive and the tapas delicious. The anchovies, oysters, quail, all sensational.
You order as you go, pick out something nice from the menu, graze over a plate and order something else. But it does add up. Washed down with some nice Spanish beer you can easily find that all these little meals end up being a little expensive.
But it's worth it; a fun way to eat, stylish and delicious, and a great place for a drink, lunch, or a special dinner. Book ahead!
