You've got to try the eggnet

It sounds weird but the egg net is delicious at longrain and I think its one of their
specialities. There is a meat and vege option. The meat version contains pork, prawns, bean shoots, coriander, chilli, peanuts, shallots, gerlic and other stuff but it tastes divine- not to be missed.
Longrain has an odd booking policy of not taking bookings at night, so get there by 6 6.30 to guarantee a table.
All meals I have had are zinging with freshness and flavour.
Try their cocktails and mocktails they have many with fresh fruit and juices like raspberry, mango, lychee and pineapple.

1980 called, they said they want their restaurant back

If you were expecting a traditional thai restaurant, then you will be in for a rude shock. coming in to the restaurant, it felt like walking into a night club. the music is loud, the decor is loud, the lights are dimmed and a room full of 20-and-30-somethings are talking at the top of their voices so they could be heard over the loud music and the other shouting 20-and-30-somethings.

Dont get me wrong, i wasnt complaining. i actually thought the atmosphere was great. it was like being in a night club but everyone is seated, and no one was dancing (so its not really like a nightclub at all).

you are greeted at the door with a hip 20-to-30-something waiter/waitress and shown to a round table with guess what... a lazy suzan in the middle! however, it is a cool lazy suzan because it is actually embedded in the table itself.

at first glance, nothing in the place even whimpered "thai". no thai staff, as far as i can see in the kitchen, no thai chefs.

however... the food came on time and the flavour was fantastic. i expected it to be a "cafe" type thai imitation food, but i was pleasantly surprised that the food tasted very "authentic" and has no hint of "cafe-style" flavour in it at all. even the rice tasted as how rice is supposed to taste like. (hey i know what proper rice taste like, us asians even eat it for breakfast!).

all in all, a very pleasant dining experience. a bit on the dear side. expect to pay around $35-$50 per person, but the food is well worth it.

this place is located close to the theatres, so why not pop in after a show. i would book ahead as the place seems to be popular.
