Start with the bruschetta and you're sure to be impressed, follow it with pretty much any of the main courses and you'll be a lifetime fan of Il Bacaro.

This is a steady, long-term restaurant on Little Collins in the City, they serve great Italian food from excellent pasta and risotto to more interesting things like baby goat stew. No matter what you get you know it's going to be good, so for $25 to $35 for mains I think it's great value. They also import a lot of Italian wines so it's the sort of place you can go for an authentic Italian experience. Highly recommended!
