Does the sort of coffee you drink say something about your personality?
According to a report I was reading the other day, young men are more likely to order straight espresso, while oldies order more flat whites. Lattes are popular in the inner, more affluent, suburbs of Melbourne, while the outers prefer a cappuccino.
What do you like drinking? Do you fall outside these stereotypes? _________________ “Blessed are the Cheese Makers!” - Jesus, in the Life of Brian |

| Black and bitter, preferably lukewarm from a drip machine. What can I say, my tastes aren't very refined. |

Back in the ‘olden days’ coffee was a bit of a luxury, tea was the common drink. When it was around it was instant, usually sweet and almost always white, for a real treat it was made with boiled milk.
I was always an odd kid, so when as an 8 year old, I would ask for black coffee I got some very puzzled and disapproving looks. I have never drunk milk in any shape or form, don’t know where I got that habit from as milk was promoted as a health food in those days.
As I recall coffee did not begin to take on its present image until the mid-late ‘70’s, then it started to become trendy to take it black, still mostly instant or, if it was a ‘posh’ place, cona.
Even with all the options today nothing has changed much for me except I now have to say ‘long black’ instead of just black and everything takes far to long. Sometimes after I have waited 20++ minutes for some pretentious kid, with a 3 year degree in coffee making, to produce my coffee I yearn for the old days of quick, simple and instant……… |

When I went to Sydney last year I was the only cappuccino order in a group of long blacks and espressos. But the reason I like cappuccinos is partly because my grampa always tells a story about the Italians at the market he worked at when he was younger, they'd have cappuccinos before they were cool and they'd stir the froth on top into the coffee crema and then sip through it. That's as close to an authentic coffee experience I've had, so even if cappuccinos are getting daggier I'll probably stick to drinking coffee that way.
Plus I just like them _________________ “Blessed are the Cheese Makers!” - Jesus, in the Life of Brian |

I just love a thick crema and it all depends on who's making it. I used to like ordering a flat white until I started getting no crema at all. So I've decided that with a Latte, they can't go wrong. A Latte definitely gets me what I want and that's a thick crema which gives me a milky mo' just like what a Guinness beer does. Tee hee! _________________ Good company always makes a night out ...
